First Blog
Well this is my first blog entry. I'm going to be upfront and tell you not to expect the same professionalism as my editorials. Those are edited and proofread so that I don't sound like a blithering idiot. In actual fact, I am the Queen of typos and run on sentences. I can never figure out where there should be a comma or a semi colon or just two sentences instead of one. So be prepared and I don't want to hear any proofreading comments unless you can't understand what I'm trying to say.
So how did this all come about. Well I was having a conversation with a potential writer and advertiser who mentioned that her husband was commenting on the fact that she was not making enough money. I shared that my husband keeps telling me to go out and get a real job. I mentioned that I really wanted to have a page in the magazine so that readers could share their frustrations about different aspects of life so that they wouldn't feel like they were the only ones experiencing these things and maybe get some advice about resolving things. I wasn't sure how to go about getting that kind of interactivity in the magazine. She suggested that I start a blog. So here I am. Please share your questions, problems and solutions here. I'd love to hear how you feel about the things and people in your life. No issue is off-limits as long as it is in good taste and shared in a non attacking manner (not sure if that's really a word - non attacking - anyone know?). Also let me know what you think of the magazine - what you like - what you'd like to see - and if you've never seen it let me know so I can get you a copy. You don't want to miss out on this magazine. Well I could write all day on this but I have to get out and deliver more magazines. I hate doing it but it goes with the job. Sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do to be able to do the things you do want to do.
